Title:
Artificial Intimacy and Intelligence Illusions: Navigating Trust, Bias, and Sustainability in AI

Keynote Summary:
This keynote will examine how AI is increasingly influencing human perception, relationships, and decision-making. Topics will include sycophantic behaviours in AI, the emergence of synthetic companionship, biases and limitations in large language models, and concerns about AI’s environmental and economic sustainability. It will provide insights on how organisations can navigate innovation responsibly as these technologies develop. Please note that the keynote's topic and focus are still subject to change.

Skelethos is an Australian start-up founded by a mother and daughter who are passionate advocates for the ethical and transparent application of artificial intelligence (AI), prioritizing human values and preferences. The company structures its service offerings across four core domains: Advice, Advocacy, Academia, and Art. Skelethos commits to the principle that "great AI must also be good AI," and aims to develop an ethical AI future prioritizing compliance, fairness, transparency, and human well-being.

During the CAITD 2026 conference, the co-founders of Skelethos will deliver a keynote address.

Title:
Beyond Black-Box AI: Closed-Loop Simulation and Open Standards for Next-Generation Systems

Abstract:
Recent advances in Artificial Intelligence—particularly large language models and data-driven approaches—are rapidly transforming engineering workflows. However, when applied to safety-critical systems such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), these methods face fundamental challenges, including limited traceability, lack of physical consistency, and difficulties in validation.

This keynote presents a complementary perspective: combining AI-based methods with structured, model-based system development through closed-loop simulation. Building on the classical sense–plan–act paradigm, simulation environments based on open standards (e.g., ASAM OSI and scenario-based approaches) enable reproducible and interpretable system behavior.

Using the FASim simulation framework, the talk illustrates how ADAS functions can be modeled, executed, and systematically evaluated in controlled environments. A particular focus is placed on emerging concepts such as resimulation and reconstruction, where AI-generated or real-world data is integrated into standardized simulation loops.

The keynote outlines how this integration can form the basis of a future activities, where AI and simulation are combined into a unified methodology for scalable, transparent, and trustworthy ADAS development.
